Hardware requirement: 1. There is available PCI-e 4.0 or 3.0 x16 Slot on Mobo 2. The motherboard can support PCIe x16 Bifurcation itself, and can be set as"PCI-e x4x4x4x4" in BIOS 3. All of the SSDs are M.2 PCI-e (M Key) NVMe SSD 4. CPU has enough channels to support

I recently purchased the RIITOP Quad NVMe PCIe Adapter to expand my storage capabilities, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations.

The adapter allows me to add up to four M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs simultaneously, utilizing an available PCI-e 4.0 or 3.0 x16 slot on my motherboard that supports PCIe x16 Bifurcation.

One of the standout features of this adapter is its upgraded design, which includes a 0.32inch heatsink to prevent SSDs from working at low speeds due to high temperatures. This design does not take up any additional space from other PCIe slots, making it an efficient addition to my system.

In addition to the heatsink, the adapter also features individual LED indicators that show each SSD’s working status, which is a convenient touch for monitoring performance.

The adapter is compatible with M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs in all sizes 80x22mm, 60x22mm and 42x22mm, 30x22mm. However, it does not support any M.2 (SATA-Based B+M Key) SSDs.

I was pleased to find that the adapter is compatible with most server and X299, X399 motherboards that can support PCIe x16 Bifurcation. I would recommend checking your motherboard’s user manual on its official website if you are unsure if it can support this feature.

One thing to note is that the adapter does not support hardware RAID, only supports the formation of soft RAID in Win10 or through third-party software. It’s also important to ensure that all four SSDs are the same model for optimal performance.
