TALL: Grows up to 3 to 6 feet tall, and 1 to 3 feet wide.

I recently had the pleasure of growing the Heather Queen Hummingbird Mint from YEGAOL Garden, and I must say it has become one of my favorite additions to my garden! This plant truly lives up to its name as it stands tall, reaching heights between 3 to 6 feet, with a width of approximately 1 to 3 feet. It’s a perfect size for any garden bed or border.

What sets this hummingbird mint apart is the long blooming period it offers. From summer all the way through early fall, I was treated to beautiful red tubular flowers that attracted not only hummingbirds but also various pollinators. The sight of these vibrant flowers against the green foliage was a real joy.

As for its growing conditions, the Heather Queen is quite adaptable. It thrives in full sun and well-drained, fertile soil. I noticed that it also tolerates dry, xeric sites, making it ideal for those who may not have the most nurturing garden conditions. However, it can also grow well in regular garden conditions, proving its versatility.

I found this plant to be low maintenance, which is a huge plus for me as I don’t always have the time to devote to gardening. It’s also worth mentioning that the whole plant has an aromatic quality, adding an extra layer of enjoyment when tending to it.

Lastly, the Heather Queen Hummingbird Mint is perfect for a variety of garden settings, including beds, borders, rock gardens, or xeric gardens. It’s also suitable for USDA zones 5 to 10, making it a versatile choice for many gardeners.
