I recently had the opportunity to try out this 22 Port Managed Multi-Gigabit Switch, and I must say, it has been a game-changer for my home network setup. The switch boasts an impressive 16 x 2.5G ports and 6 x 10G SFP+ ports, providing a switching capacity of 240Gbps.
One feature that stood out was the Layer 3 management support. This includes VLAN, Port Aggregation/Mirroring/Isolation, Speed Limitation, Flow Control, QoS, Port Security, Spanning Tree, Multicast, DoS defend, Storm control, DHCP Snooping, and ACL/IGMP/SNMP. These features allow for more efficient network management and improved performance.
The VLAN and Link Extension Mode were particularly useful in my setup. With 1-16 ports isolated from each other but still able to communicate with two uplink ports, I was able to reduce network congestion significantly. The 32K Mac address table also allowed me to connect more devices and use it in large networks.
The switch’s smart heat dissipation system is impressive. It uses 2 industrial-grade fans that automatically start and stop according to the power used, and adjust their speed for energy savings and extended use time. However, do note that there may be some operation sound during working which is normal.
In terms of dimensions, this switch is 17.3 x 11.0 x 2.2 (440mm x 280mm x 55mm), making it suitable for desktop, wall or rackmount placement. It also comes with all the necessary mounting hardware in the box.
My only caveat is that the SFP module is not included and the SFP port does not support 2.5G, only 1.25G and 10G. So, keep this in mind when making your purchase.
